About Fairloom

Fairloom's mission is to create a learning community where young people in the United States and Brazil work together to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to foster social justice as they build a sustainable education and economic foundation for the community of Terra Prometida, Brazil. Our community economic program centers around a fair-trade artisan group who are working to preserve Brazilian bobbin-lace, an endangered cultural art.

We welcome graduates, students, and other skilled and passionate people from around the world to work directly with the artisans and families in Terra Prometida and to intern in the United States.

Fairloom focuses on every individual involved in our programs and we keep the organization small enough so that every board member, director, artisan, and child can feel connected to each other. We are enabling the spirit of Terra Prometida to transcend the borders of their neighborhood. We hope it continues to spread and reaches you.
