Annie Doran
Annie Doran, Founder of Fairloom
February 2005

When Annie was eight years old, she began pasting Portuguese words on appliances at home and singing "My Hat has Three Corners" in the beautiful Brazilian language. After years of begging her parents to bring her to Brazil, she finally spent the Fall of 2002 studying in NE Brazil. During this time, she met the community of Terra Prometida, was drawn to their determination and spirit, and knew she would be returning to do more than just study. Annie has a BS in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Race and Culture from the University of Vermont. She now lives in Turner, ME and makes frequent trips to Brazil.
